College Library in association with IQAC conducted a webinar on the topic of 'Reasearch Oriented Information Sources' on 19 November 2024. Sri. Jamsheer NP, Assistant Librarian, University of Calicut, was the resource person of the webinar. The webinar was inaugurated by College Principal prof. (Dr) Kumar SP. Smt. Aswani BG, College Librarian delivered the presidential address and felicitation were proposed by Dr. Athma Jayaprakash (IQAC Coordinator) and Vishnu Pavithran (College Union Chairman). Keerthana IP, College Union Vice-chairperson proposed vote of thanks.

INAUGURATION OF THE ENGLISH ASSOCIATION 'ANGREZI'
The Association inauguration of the Postgraduate Department of English was conducted on November 19, 2024, by the Principal, Prof.Dr.Kumar S.P. The inaugural function was held in the College Seminar Hall at 10.30 am. Mr. Hisham Muhammed, English Language Trainer and Motivational Speaker,was the Chief Guest of the day. Rhinu M.K, General Secretary of the College Union, delivered the Welcome Address. The Presidential Address was conveiby Ms.Vandana Viswanath, HoD English.
The Chief Guest, Mr. Hisham Muhammad, oriented the students about the various career and academic options they can choose after their UG or PG studies. He emphasized the contemporary relevance of English language and Communication Skills. Felicitations were proposed by Dr.Athma Jayaprakash (IQAC Coordinator), Ms Aswani BG( College Librarian and Union Advisor), Dr.Divya NK( Fine Arts Advisor), Ms. Sangeetha G Nair( Faculty, Dept.of English)and Vishnu Pavithran (College Union Chairman).
Shanithya, the English Association Secretary, proposed the Vote of Thanks.

Botany Department Association Inauguration

The Department of Botany conducted the inauguration of the Botany Association on the 18th November, 2024. The event was inaugurated by our esteemed Principal, Prof. (Dr.) Kumar S.P., Smt. Jijisha, Agricultural Officer at Chelannur Krishibhavan, delivered an insightful invited talk on the topic "Organic Farming."
The event was attended by students and faculty from the Departments of Botany, Zoology, and Chemistry. Felicitations were delivered by Dr. Athma Jayaprakash, Dr. Santhosh C.R., Dr. Deepesh Karimpinkara, and Dr. Divya N.K., among others, adding grace and encouragement to the occasion.

The students of the Forestry club of SNG College Chelannur organised a programme of Planting seedlings of fruit trees on 09.08.24. The aim of the programme is to improve the greenery and biodiversity of our campus, also to create awareness and environmental responsibility among students.the programme was ended with a talk by Dr. Abhilash ES, coordinator, Forestry club, on the importance of Planting trees.

Blood group screening camp conducted for public
Community services have always been an integral part of Sree Narayana Guru College Chelannur and keeping this thought in mind, PG Department of Biology organized a successful Blood Group Screening Camp on 01-02- 2024 for the residents of Chelannur panchayath. With the permission of Dr. Kumar S P, Principal, the PG Department of Biology organized free blood group screening camp on 1st February 2024 for the residents in and around the campus. Main objective of the camp was to raise awareness about health and during the camp; our team of staff members and students conducted free blood group screening. The camp was conducted under the guidance of Dr. Megha P U and Dr. Shymi K. The results were released simultaneously.
