    കോഴിക്കോട്: ന്യൂ ഇന്ത്യാ ലിറ്ററസി പ്രോഗ്രാം ഉല്ലാസ് പദ്ധതി പ്രകാരം ഗുണഭോക്താക്കളെ കണ്ടെത്തുന്നതിനുള്ള മേഖലാ പരിശീലനം ചേളന്നൂർ എസ് എൻ ജി കോളേജ് സെമിനാർ ഹാളിൽ വെച്ച് നടന്നു. പൂർവ്വ വിദ്യാർത്ഥിയും ഗ്രാമ പഞ്ചായത്ത് പ്രസിഡൻ്റുമായ നൗഷീർ ഉദ്ഘാടനം നിർവ്വഹിച്ചു. പ്രിൻസിപ്പൽ ഡോ. കുമാർ എസ്.പി അദ്ധ്യക്ഷം വഹിച്ചു. കാലിക്കറ്റ് സർവ്വകലാശാല ജില്ലാ എൻഎസ് എസ് കോ. ഓർഡിനേറ്റർ ഫസീൽ അഹമ്മദ്, സാക്ഷരതാ മിഷൻ ജില്ലാ കോ ഓർഡിനേറ്റർ പി.വി. ശാസ്ത പ്രസാദ്,എൻ എസ് എസ് പ്രോഗ്രാം ഓഫീസർമാരായ ഡോ ജ്യോതി ലക്ഷ്മി എസ്.കെ, അരുണിമ ,പഞ്ചായത്ത് സാക്ഷരതാസമിതി കൺവീനർ ശശികുമാർ ചേളന്നൂർ പ്രസംഗിച്ചു. ചേളന്നൂർ എസ് എൻ ജി കോളേജ്, ചെറുവറ്റ എം ഒ സി എ എസ് കോളേജ് എൻ എസ് എസ് യൂണിറ്റുകളിൽ നിന്നുള്ള എൺപത്തി എട്ട് വിദ്യാർത്ഥികൾ പരിശീലനത്തിൽ പങ്കെടുത്തു. അടിസ്ഥാന സാക്ഷരത മുതൽ ഹയർ സെക്കൻ്ററി തുല്യത കോഴ്സിൽ വരെ പഠിക്കാൻ താൽപര്യമുള്ളവരെ സർവ്വേയിൽ ഉൾപ്പെടുത്തും. പ്രാഥമിക വിദ്യാഭ്യാസം പൂർത്തിയാക്കിയിട്ടില്ലാത്ത ഡിജിറ്റൽ നിരക്ഷരരെ കണ്ടെത്തി ഓൺലൈൻ സാക്ഷരത ക്ലാസ് വഴി ഡിജിറ്റൽ സാക്ഷരത നൽകാനും ഉല്ലാസ് പദ്ധതി ലക്ഷ്യം വെയ്ക്കുന്നു. കാലിക്കറ്റ് സർവ്വകലാശാല ജില്ലാ എൻഎസ്എസ് വഴി ഓരോ വോളൻ്റിയർമാരും സർവ്വേ പ്രവർത്തനങ്ങളിൽ സന്നദ്ധ സേവനം നൽകും.

  • World Paper Bag Day is observed annually on July 12th to promote the use of paper bags as an eco-friendly alternative to plastic bags. This day highlights the environmental benefits of paper bags, such as their biodegradability and recyclability, and encourages people to reduce plastic waste.
    In accordance of the World Paper Bag Day, the cadets of Army wing NCC of SNGC prepared and gaveout handmade paperbags by the cadets itself. By this programme the cadets took an initiative to make awareness among the students and people around the college premises on how harmful plastic is in our daily life.

  • The International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking is a United Nations International Day against drug abuse and the illegal drug trade. It is observed annually on 26 June, since 1989.the 2025 Drug Prevention Forum, held under the theme "An Aware Family... A Safe Society".
    The NCC army wing of SNGC observed anti drug day by conducting a flashmob at the college premises making the students and local people aware of the dangerous situation around them. The programme was led by ANO Capt. Dr. Sindhu Krishnadas. The cadets made huge effect to make the programme a great success by completing their role in creating awareness.

    World Oceans Day is celebrated annually on June 8th to raise awareness about the importance of oceans and their vital role in our planet’s health. The theme for World Oceans Day 2025 is "Wonder: Sustaining what sustains us",

    The Army wing NCC of SNGC celebrated world Ocean day by conducting a digital poster making competition and a webinar based on the theme of this ocean day. ANO Capt. Dr. Sindhu Krishnadas addressed the cadets about the importance of conserving ocean ecosystem and the responsibilities of each person in the society . UO Gayathri presented the introduction followed by 2nd year and 3rd year cadets presenting their views, talking about the importance of ocean conservatio. The programme was a great success with the cadets sharing their willingness to protect the nature.

  • NCC World Environment Day Celebration 2025
    World Environment Day was celebrated by NCC cadets. The program began at 10 am. A sapling was planted by Abhilash Sir, HOD BSC. Botany and ANO Capt. Dr. Sindhu Krishnadas T. The slogan for environment day this year is "Beat Plastic Pollution". Cadets also cleaned college premises and collected plastic waste. A quiz competition was also conducted. The program was over by 11.45 am.64 cadets and Ex- Ncc cadets took part in the celebration making the programme more meaningful

  • 1975-80 ബാച്ച് 'ഓർമ്മക്കൂട്ട്' സെമിനാർഹാളിലേക്കുള്ള ഏ.സി പ്രിൻസിപ്പാളിന് കൈമാറുന്നു.

  • The inauguration ceremony of the newly renovated Seminar Hall at Sree Narayana Guru College, Chelannur, was held on April 23, 2025, at 10:30 AM. The renovation was carried out by the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) for the academic year 2024–2025. The event was presided over by Dr. Kumar S. P., Principal of SNGC. Mr. P. M. Ravindran, Executive Member of SN Trusts, delivered the welcome address. The Seminar Hall was officially inaugurated by Mr. Tushar Vellappally, Administrative Secretary of SN Trusts. The ceremony also featured special addresses by Mr. Santhosh Arayankandy (Executive Member, SN Trusts), Mr. Mahesh Babu P. K. (Sub Inspector, IGP, North Zone Office and alumnus of SNGC), Mr. K. J. Vinodkumar (PTA Vice President), and Dr. Jyothi Lakshmi S. K. (PTA Secretary). The college community expressed heartfelt appreciation to the PTA for their valuable contribution to enhancing the campus infrastructure.

    Report on the Visit of Thunderbolt Force to Sree Narayana Guru College Chelannur

    Introduction
    On ,14.02.2025 the Thunderbolt Force of Kerala Police visited Sree Narayana Guru College Chelannur as part of their efforts to ensure the safety and security of educational institutions. The visit was aimed at assessing the college's preparedness to respond to any potential security threats and providing guidance on enhancing security measures.

    Background
    In recent times, there have been concerns about the safety and security of educational institutions in Kerala. The Thunderbolt Force, an elite unit of the Kerala Police, has been conducting visits to various educational institutions to assess their security preparedness and provide guidance on enhancing security measures.

    The objectives of the visit were:

    1. To assess the college's security infrastructure and preparedness to respond to potential security threats.
    2. To provide guidance on enhancing security measures and ensuring the safety of students and staff.
    3. To identify potential vulnerabilities and provide recommendations for addressing them.

    Methodology

    The Thunderbolt Force team conducted a thorough assessment of the college's security infrastructure, including:

    1. Review of security protocols and procedures.
    2. Inspection of security equipment and infrastructure, such as CCTV cameras and access control systems.
    3. Interviews with college staff and students to gather information on security concerns and vulnerabilities.

    Findings

    The Thunderbolt Force team identified several areas of concern, including:

    1. Inadequate security lighting in certain areas of the campus.
    2. Insufficient training for security personnel on emergency response procedures.
    3. Lack of awareness among students and staff on security protocols and procedures.

    Recommendations

    Based on the findings, the Thunderbolt Force team provided the following recommendations:

    1. Installation of additional security lighting in areas identified as vulnerable.
    2. Provision of training for security personnel on emergency response procedures.
    3. Conducting regular security awareness programs for students and staff.

    Conclusion

    The visit of the Thunderbolt Force to Sree Narayana Guru College Chelannur was a valuable exercise in assessing the college's security preparedness and providing guidance on enhancing security measures. The college administration has assured that the recommendations provided by the Thunderbolt Force team will be implemented promptly to ensure the safety and security of students and staff.

    SNG College celebrated its grand Fine Arts Day, Kummaatti 2025, from February 4th to 7th with great enthusiasm and artistic fervor. The event brought together students from various disciplines to showcase their creative talents in music, dance, drama, and visual arts. The official inauguration was held on February 4th, with renowned actor Gokul, famed for his role in Aadu Jeevitham, gracing the occasion as the chief guest. The event was presided over by our respected principal, Kumar Sir, who emphasized the importance of arts in education. Sadik, a member of the Calicut University Academic Council, delivered the felicitation address, applauding the students for their dedication and passion for the arts. Over four days, the college campus was transformed into a vibrant hub of artistic expression, with competitions in painting, music, dance, drama, and literary events. Students participated with great enthusiasm, making it a tough contest for the coveted overall championship The event concluded on February 7th with a grand closing ceremony, where winners were felicitated, and the spirit of creativity and camaraderie was celebrated. Kummaatti 2025 was a resounding success, leaving behind unforgettable memories and inspiring students to continue their artistic journey.

    The seminar commenced with a warm welcome by Dr. Joobi, VP, who emphasized the importance of intellectual property rights in today’s competitive world.Varsha Prakash delivered the presidential address, highlighting the objectives of the seminar and its relevance to students and professionals.The seminar was formally inaugurated by Dr. (Prof) Kumar S.P., who provided an overview of the significance of IPR in various domains.Dr. Athma Jayaprakash extended his felicitations and appreciated the efforts of the organizing committee.Dr. Manju M.P. also shared her thoughts on the importance of intellectual property protection and innovation.     In the academic year 2024-25 Physics Association "NOVAIRE" was inaugurated on 17-01-2025 at 10.00 am. The Principal Prof. (Dr) Kumar SP presided the function. Physics department Head Neethu P delivered welcome speech. Manoob VJ, Assistant Professor, Department of Physics, SN College Kannur inaugurated the Assiciation. After the inaugural session he delivered a talk on "Cosmic Calender". The talk was highly interesting. Rajesh MR, HoD, Department of Electronics, Dr.Divya N K, Fine Arts Advisor facilitated the function. Aaruni DP, The Secretary, Physics Association delivered vote of thanks. Students of Physics department organised various cultural programmes after the technical session.

  • On 18 Department of Botany conducted inauguration of Botany Association. Our Principal Prof.(Dr.) Kumar SP inaugurated Botany Association function. Smt Jijisha, Agricultural Officer , Chelannnur Krishibhavan delivered invited talk on the topic 'Organic farming'. Students of Botany, teachers of Botany, Zoology, Chemistry attended function. Dr. Athma Jayaprakash, Dr. Santhosh CR, Dr. Deepesh Karimpinkara, Dr. Divya NK etc delivered felicitation to the programme

  • The NSS units 19 & 33 of the college organised an Investiture ceremony on 10th January 2025 at 1.30 pm from seminar hall. In the function the best campers of NSS special camp and the names of new secretaries were announced.
