    The inauguration of the Association of the Postgraduate Department of English, Sree Narayana Guru College, Chelannur, was held on March 30, 2023. The function began with a prayer rendered by Ms.Hanna PP (II MA English). Ms. Vandana Viswanath, HoD English, welcomed the gathering. The function was presided over by the Principal, Prof. Dr. Kumar S.P. Dr. Anitha Ramesh, Associate Professor and Head of the PG Department of English ( Retd.), The Zamorin’s Guruvayurappan College, was the Chief Guest of the day. She delivered a very insightful and relevant talk on the Impact of the Social Media on the present generation of youth. Dr.Athma Jayaprakash(IQAC Coordinator) and Ms. Adithya P(Vice-Chairperson, College Union) offered felicitations to the programme. Ms. Kshethra MK (II MA English)coordinated the announcement and the general structure of the programme. The function concluded by 12.30 pm.

  • Anti-Narcotics Cell of Sree Narayana Guru College, Chelannur in collaboration with Family Health Centre, Iruvallur conducted a seminar to spread awareness among students on the harmful effects of tobacco. The seminar was conducted in connection with 'Tobacco Free Educational Institutions Campaign'. Dr Jaseena T P, (Assistant Professor & Head, Department of Arabic) Convener, Anti- Narcotics Cell of the College presided over the function. Shri Nishad (JHI, FHC, Iruvallur) delivered the welcome address. Classes were conducted in two sessions. First session was handled by Tomy Thomas, Health Supervisor, Thalakalathur. Shri Shafi, Excise Preventive Officer,Shafi Ex vice preventive officer.Chelannur Range....., conducted the second session on "Influence of Tobacco". He made an awareness among the students, by citing many incidents, on the harmful effects on tobacco and how use of tobacco spoils our future. The seminar was truly informative since it enlightened the students to be more responsible towards their future and society. The programme ended with Vote of Thanks by Dr Suma T K, Head and Assistant Professor, Department of Hindi.

    Sree Narayana Study Centre conducted a one day seminar on 13th March 2023 in the college seminar hall. The seminar commenced with the prayer at 11am. and Dr.Santhosh C. R, coordinator of SNSC welcomed the gathering. Dr. Kumar S P, Principal chaired the function. Dr.K M Anil, Professor, Ezhuthachan Study Centre, Malayalam University, presented the paper on the influence of Narayana Guru's thoughts on our constitution.   • Women’s Study Centre, Sree Narayana Guru College, Chelannur in collaboration with JCI Calicut City conducted an awareness class on the “Importance of Lifestyle Modifications” on 23rd February 2023, Thursday at 10 am in the Seminar Hall. Women’s Study Centre works with the objective of deconstructing the sociopolitical construct of inequality. We attempt to examine the root causes of social oppression and inequality and to address them, to create systemic social changes. Today’s programme started with a Prayer followed by the welcome address delivered by Smt. Gayathri P, Co ordinator of Women’s Study Centre and Assistant Professor of English. Principal Dr Kumar SP presided over the function and Mr. Varun, Member of JCI and Smt. Lasitha BR, Head Department of Botany delivered felicitations. The resource person of the day, Dr. Sweety Rajiv rendered an enlightening talk on the significance of healthy lifestyle, balanced diet, physical exercise, sound sleep etc. The session followed by interactions with the audience concluded with the vote of thanks by Dr Jaseena, Head, Department of Arabic.
