Sree Narayana Guru College Chelannur has done labelling and bar coding of trees around college campus. The name board of each tree contains it's Scientific name, family, English common name, Malayalam common name and an unique barcode. The barcode can be scanned with any mobile barcode scanner. The bar code scanner will directly connect to Web page where the complete description of plants like it's distribution, identification details, it's morphological, phenological, medicinal properties etc. Students as well as a layman who wish to know everything about the particular plant can be easily learned with while just scanning with any mobile barcode scanner app.
