Ethical Policies
- The institution shall practice the ideal "Enlightenment through Education", espoused by the great sage, seer and philosopher, Sree Narayana Guru, after whom the college is named.
- Conscious of its moral obligation to imbibe and disseminate the revolutionary ideals of venerable saint, social reformer and educationist, Sree Narayana Guru, such as ‘One Caste, One Religion, One God’, the college shall always thrive for communal harmony.
- Efforts shall be taken to remove the disparities based on race, religion and caste and to encourage the participation of the minorities and the backward communities in the mainstream of formal education as envisioned by Sree Narayana Guru.
- The institution shall take every possible step to achieve excellence by improving the quality of its service and systematic upgradation of available infrastructure.
- The central areas of focus shall include academic excellence, development of skills and character formation of students based on the ideology and philosophy of Sree Narayana Guru, and equal emphasis on human values and scientific temper.
- The noble notion of equality and dignity to all shall be effectuated by the college.
- The institution shall act as the nucleus for higher education and thus share the efforts of the state towards removing the social, economic and cultural backwardness of the region.
- Achieving excellence in teaching, learning and knowledge generation shall be the prime focus; thereby facilitating social reformation, enlightenment and perseverance of progressive values.
- In accordance with the National Education Policy (NEP 2020), the institution shall endeavour to broaden the horizon of knowledge imparted to the students by way of add-on courses, open courses and certificate courses, thus ensuring a multidisciplinary approach to education in the institution, where students can pursue courses in different disciplines and take up a range of subjects beyond their core discipline.
- Efforts shall be taken to augment the subject related competency, skills and employability of students, empowering them to live independently on their own earnings with self-respect and dignity.
- Institution shall conduct employment opportunity drives in the college and encourage students to attend various internship programmes to enhance their skills and increase their social network.
- Head of the institution and teachers shall make relentless efforts to cultivate the spirit of gender equality and environmental consciousness which serve as the pivotal objectives of the institution.
- Awareness programmes on nationalism and constitutional rights shall be conductedto inculcate in students, the sense of equality, democracy, benevolence, moral uprightness and patriotism.
- Sree Narayana Study Centre shall play an instrumental role in liberating the students from all sorts of social, cultural, economic, emotional and intellectual parochialism through value-based education.
- The faculty members shall maintain professional demeanor and the Head of the institution shall supervise all curricular, co-curricular, administrative and financial activities of the institution.
- The institution shall follow the guidelines issued by UGC and the Higher Education Department, Government of Kerala, regarding the appointments, duties and responsibilities of the teaching, non-teaching and administrative staff.
- Teachers and the administrative staff shall discharge his/her duties efficiently and diligently and shall adhere to the rules and regulations of the institution.
- Management of the institution shall be alacritous in ensuring a disciplined environment in the campus conducive to teaching and learning and shall meticulously engage in the maintenance and timely augmentation of the infrastructural facilities.
- The teaching and administrative staff shall follow the UGC code of conduct and Calicut University statutes.
- Grievances of any kind, including sexual harassment, ragging and the like shall be dealt with due seriousness and zero tolerance for which the institution will depend onlegal provisions.
- Head of the institution, teachers, non-teaching staff as well as students shall be obliged to maintain transparency in financial transactions.
- Due consideration and assistance shall be rendered to Divyangjan students in curricular and co-curricular activities, their aptitude in various fields shall be identified, and adequate motivation and coaching will be provided to hone their skills.
- Awareness lectures about the psychological, physical and emotional needs of Divyangjan students shall be conducted to inculcate the quality of inclusivity in the students.
- Institution shall conduct class PTA and general PTA regularly.
- Remedial classes shall be provided as educational support for students facing academic difficulties.
- The involvement of alumni in the affairs of the institution shall be encouraged to maintain a rapport between them and the institution which shall promote the overall welfare of the college with the aid and assistance from them.
