Add-on Certificate Courses
Sree Narayana Guru College, Chelannur, offers a series of Add-on Certificate Courses for the academic year 2022-23, in association with various departments of the college, with the aim of enriching the learning experience of students. The courses will help to develop the necessary skills for succeeding in career opportunities and also bring a holistic approach to the learning process.Students from any discipline can opt the courses and acquire skills in the concerned area. Admission is fully free and is exclusive to the students of our institution. A student can apply for only one course. Students will be issued certificates after the successful completion of the course.

- Eligibility: 55 % and above in 12th standard or equivalent (from any stream) and a student of Sree Narayana Guru College, Chelannur.
- Application process: Application forms are available in the college store. Students can collect the form by remitting a fee of Rs. 2.00
- Duration: Three months with 30 hours for each course

- English for Effective Communication:
The PG Department of English offers a Certificate course in ‘English for Effective Communication.This course would help the students to understand the importanceandpractical implications of effective communication skills in English. On the completion of the course, the students will be able to understand some of the basic ideas concerning the effective use of communication in English language. Moreover, the students would also have gained enough confidence to communicate in English language. - Economics of Money and Banking:
The objective of this course designed by the PG Department of Economics is to analyse the impact of money on some of the economy’s key variables such as interest rates, inflation, and the banking industry. Students will learn
the role of central and commercial banks in the process of money creation and control. - സര്‍ഗ്ഗാത്മകരചന

The PG Department of Botany offers a Certificate course in ‘Mushroom Cultivation’ ,which will enable the students to identify edible and poisonous mushrooms,provide training for the preparation of bed for mushroom cultivation and spawn production.By successfully completing the course, the students will be able to grow and produce mushrooms in a scientific manner and make various value added products from this which would help the students to learn a means of self employment and income generation - LaTeX for beginners:
The course offered by the Department of Physics includes the basics of LaTeX, layout options in LaTeX, document class,document structures and type setting using tabular environment and mathematical environment in LaTeX and Inserting figures in Latex docu ment .This course will enable students to write academic materials and articles in a correct and structured manner.On the completion of the course the students will be able to develop skills to use LaTeX to produce professional looking PDF documents and tabular environment in LaTeX document. The course will help the students to write complex mathematical expressions without worrying about type settings. - Indroduction to Discrete Mathematics:
The course on ‘Introduction to Discrete Mathematics’ is offered by the Department of Mathematics.It would help the students to understand the language of logic, language of sets, functions and matrices, induction and aigorithms,relations, graphs, trees etc. The course enables one to think systematically and to express ideas in a precise and concise mathematical terms and also to make valid arguments. - Business Research Methods:
The PG Department of Commerce offers acertificate course in ‘Business Research Methods’, which coversmeaning, types and criteria of good research, research process, preparation of business research plan/proposal, research design,and methods of data collection, data analysis and report writing.This course is relevant to the students who are studying commerce and management as they can take up research projects more effectively. It equips the students to meet the professional and employment needs in research and development institutes, production, marketing, human resource management, finance departments as a business analyst, market research analyst, financial research analyst,
international market research analyst etc. - First Aid and Safety Education:
The Department of Physical Education conducts the course on ‘First Aid and Safety Education’, which intendsto develop basic concepts about First Aid and its implications in regular life. It also provides the knowledge regarding role and duties of First Aider and various Modalities of First Aid. The programme delivers practical training on various first aid procedures and emergency life saving techniques.
