The department of Biology was established in Sree Narayana Guru College Chelannur during the academic year 2020-2021. The department was flagged off with M.Sc. Biology program with a specialization in Molecular Medicine and Virology on 27th March 2021. The course running in an aided pattern has an uptake of 10 students. Students from various disciplines like Botany, Zoology, Microbiology, Biotechnology, and Biochemistry can procure the degree. The syllabus is designed to suit interdisciplinary outcomes with subjects like Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Immunology, Ecology, Microbiology, Biophysics, Cell Biology, etc. Practicals are also enriched to meet contemporary research and development requirements. The course follows the Choice Based Credit Semester System (CCSS).
