Additional Skill Acquisition Programme


ASAP (Additional Skill Acquisition Programme) is a skill Development Project embarked by the Kerala State to equip the young population with employable skills. It is introduced to alleviate the unemployment problems in the state.The motto behind this programme is to generate more employable skills in the student population of Kerala by providing specific skill training programmes along with Regular studies. This programme mainly focuses school as well as college students. The mission is to eradicate unemployment due to lack of particular skill and polish human wealth to become the major assets of the society. The Kerala Government has embarked this ambitious project to equip young population with skills in cutting edge sectors in order to effectively alleviate the unemployment. The project mainly focuses those students which are socially and economically backward.The Programme Committee consists of the Principal as the Chairman, Smt. Manjusha as the Programme Manager and Smt. Joobi V P, Assistant Professor, Dept. of Commerce as the Coordinator

ASAP Orientation Programme

The mission aims

  • To develop communication skills as well as 4 language skills ie, listening, speaking, reading and writing etc.
  • To develop social skills as well as personal skills.
  • To develop personalities and modify the behavior
  • To generate social awareness

ASAP Programme 2018-19 and 2019-20

The ASAP programme for the academic year 2018-19 also included Orientation Programmes and Parent’s Meeting followed by various classes and programmes. The ASAP Programme for 2019-20 started with an Orientation programme to First year students on 04-09-2019.The Principal Dr.Devipriya V, the Programme Manager Smt. Shima Williams, The Skill Development Executive SmtKeerthi and the Coordinator Dr.Joobi .participated in the programme. A Parent’s Meeting of the ASAP students was also conducted in the month of September to make the parents aware of the programme. After screening and interview of the interested students, 29 students were selected for the batch 2018-19. The classes started on 16th December 2019.


ASAP Programme 2017-18

An Orientation programme to frst year students on 26-07-2017. The Principal Sri V R Sudheesh, the Programme manager SmtManjusha, The Skill Development Executive SmtKeerthi and the Coordinator Smt. Joobi participated in the programme. The main aim of the programme is to give the first-year students an awareness on ASAP functioning and its rules and regulations. A Parent’s Meeting of the ASAP students was also conducted in the month of September to make the parents aware of the programme. After screening and interview of the interested students, 27 students were selected for the batch 2017-18. The classes started on 14th December 2017.

n Orientation programme of ASAP Summer Skill Skool for the final year students were also conducted on 30th January 2017.The programme was handled by the programme Manager Shima Williams. Few students from different subjects got selected to the programme. The other class activities conducted by the students of batch 2017-18 were Team work for bottle on paper bridge, sadhya preparation, vote for deforestation, flower vase making etc.
