Seminar on Intellectual Property Rights
Department of Botany in association with IQAC conducted a seminar on Intellectual property rights for the students on 05/10/2019. The Programme started at 1.30 PM with the welcome speech by Dr. Abhilash E.S., Assistant Professor, Department of Botany. Principal Dr. Devipriya V. inaugurated the programme. Dr. Binumol M was the resource person, who addressed the gathering. Smt. Lasitha K.R. gave Vote of Thanks. 73 students and teachers of different departments participated in the programme.
Seminar on Intellectual Property Rights
Department of Maths in association with IQAC conducted a seminar on 15/11/2019 Intellectual property rights. Programme started at 1.30 PM with the welcome speech by Sub L/t. Mohanan T., Head & Assistant Professor, Department of Maths. Principal Dr. Devipriya V. presided the programme. Sri. Libeesh Kumar K.R. Assistant Professor, Department of Mathematics, Govt. Polytechnique College, Kannur was the resource person, who addressed the gathering. Sri. Vineesh K.P. gave the Vote of Thanks. 51 students and teachers of different Departments participated in the programme.
ICTEDIS - Research and Research Methodology
An ICT enabled class on Research and Research Methodology was organised by the Department of English on 31-01-2020. Around hundred students of all the five batches of English attended the programme. A power point presentation on Research Methodology in English was given by Dr. J. Maya Devi, Head, Department of English. It gave the students an idea on how to conduct research in Literature. In the discussion that followed, students get their doubts clarified. Ms. Aswathy V. of the Department of English also shared her experience in doing research.

Workshop on Mask Making
Masks should be used as part of a comprehensive strategy of measures to suppress transmission and save lives during the time of COVID 19. Local community face a severe shortage of mask during the period of lockdown. Some of the associations and social clubs initiated to educate the people to make and use of mask at their home. It came to our students notice and asked to organise a workshop regarding the mask making process. We selected the Teacher Education students to provide workshop as they can extend their service to the school students and society. The programme was conducted on 23/03/2020 through google meet. Around 53 participants were present for the programme.

Intellectual Property: Know Your Rights
The Post Graduate Department of English conducted a one-day seminar on Intellectual Property Rights on September 11, 2018. Dr. Prasanth V. G. (Associate Professor & Head, RSMSNDP Yogam College, Koyilandi) was the resource person, and he spoke on the topic, “Intellectual Property: Know Your Rights”. The function began at 10.30 AM with a prayer. The Head of the Department, Dr. J. Mayadevi, welcomed the gathering. The Principal, Dr. Devipriya V., presided over the function. Around 95 students from different departments attended the function. Dr. Prasanth spoke comprehensively on the subject of discussion, in simple terms, which was quite comprehensible to laymen, including students. He mentioned the significance and relevance of ‘Intellectual Property Rights’, in the current world. Thus, it is very important that students should be aware of the concept of Intellectual Property Rights. The talk was followed by a very active question and answer session, in which the students aired their doubts and voiced their opinions. The seminar proved to be very insightful to the students, as conveyed by them through their feedback. The session ended with a Vote of Thanks delivered by Ms. Sangeetha G. Nair.
Seminar on Research Methodology
A seminar on Research Methodology was conducted by Department of Economics in association with IQAC on 10/10/2018 at the college Seminar Hall. The talk was on understanding Research Methodology and its application in various streams of research. The Programme started at 10 AM with the welcome speech by Dr. Sindhu Krishnadas., Assistant Professor, Department of Economics. Principal Dr. Devipriya V presided the programme. Dr Shabeer K. P. Associate Professor, PG Department of Economics, Govt. College Kodenchery, was the resource person, who addressed the gathering. Sri.Amrutha P. gave Vote of Thanks. 78 students and teachers of different departments participated in the programme. The main aim of the programme was to inculcate interest in research among the students.
Two Day Workshop on Research Methodology and Data Analysis
As part of Golden Jubilee Celebrations of Sree Narayana Guru College, Chelannur, Kozhikode the Department of Commerce with the support of PTA (Parent Teacher Association) conducted a two-day workshop on research methodology titled as ‘Two Day Workshop on Research Methodology and Data Analysis’ for the post graduate students on 2nd and 3rd November 2018 in the seminar hall from 9.30 am to 5.30 pm. The resource person of the programme was Sri. Jabir K, Statistician and HST, Kasaragod. The workshop was co-ordinated by Smt. Joobi V. P., Assistant Professor and Convened by Smt. Vinersha T.M., Head of the Department. The program started with the welcome speech of Smt. Jeothilakshmi S. K., IQAC Co-ordinator. The programme aims to improve the research skills and competence among the students by strengthening their knowledge as well as improving researchers’ technical skill on data analysis. The programme was meant to give an introduction to data analysis using SPSS (Statistical Package on Social Science). Topics such as Data Preparation, Basic Analysis and Advanced Analysis overview come under this. The basic objective of the workshop was to acquaint the students with the advanced use of SPSS. The main aim of programme was to make them familiar with the specifics of using SPSS through a basic knowledge in statistics, correlation and regression. Around 110 students from different departments participated.
Entrepreneurship Development Programme
Food Fest
The ED club organized a food fest on 10/8/2018 in college premises. It was conducted in connection with Golden jubilee inauguration of the College. This was organized to develop an entrepreneurial mindset among students. The food court was organized and co-ordinated by the students themselves under the leadership of Roshma, Surya devi, Madhurya, Danish and Adith, with the guidance and support of teachers. This initiative gave the students a new experience and realizable profit.
One Day Workshop on Research Methodology
The Department of Commerce in association with the Department of Economics has conducted a one-day workshop on research methodology on 30/6/2017 at seminar hall. Welcome address was given by Dr. Sindhu Krishnadas, Assistant Professor, Department of Economics. The programme was inaugurated by the Principal Sri. Vinod Kumar. The session was handled by the resource person Dr. K.T. Thomachan, Associate Professor, Devagiri College. The main focus of the workshop was to inculcate among the students about the relevance of the research and motivate them to come into the field of research. He discussed about basics of research, how to formulate hypothesis, how to frame the research design, what are the methodology to be adopted, how to apply statistical tools and techniques etc. The session ended by vote of thanks by Smt. Vinersha T.M., Head of the Department of Commerce. 45 students participated in the workshop
Intellectual Property Rights: an overview
The Postgraduate Department of English, Sree Narayana Guru College, Chelannur, organised a Seminar on IPR on 16/08/2017. The programme was based on the topic ‘Intellectual Property Rights: An Overview’. Adv. N S Jyothikumar, Legal advisor of Human Rights and Social Justice Mission was the key- note speaker. Dr. J. Mayadevi, Head of the department of English welcomed the gathering and Smt. Vandana Viswanath, faculty, department of English rendered the vote of thanks.
The seminar was conducted in the college seminar hall at 10 AM. Almost two hundred students and twenty teachers from various departments participated in this program. The talk was very much informative and the students were able to gather information about the legal and ethical guidelines to be followed when dealing with intellectual property issues. The students had the opportunity to interact with the speaker to clarify their doubts regarding the topic. The session ended at 12 noon. The active participation from the audience was well appreciated by the speaker.

Workshop on Umbrella Making
The Entrepreneurship Development Club of Sree Narayana Guru College Chelannur conducted a workshop series to enhance the entrepreneurship talents of students. Umbrella making workshop was conducted on 14-07-2017. This programme mainly focused on providing the skill on how to make an umbrella. Session commenced with a prayer by Soumya and Nandana. Welcome speech was designated to Mrs. Dhanya Krishna, ED club co-ordinator. Presidential and inaugural address was by V. R. Sudheesh, Principal. Felicitation was delivered by Mrs. Jeothilakshmi, IQAC co-ordinator. Vote of thanks was proposed by Anjusha Student co-ordinator. 73 students participated in the programme.
ED Club Inauguration
As a part of inauguration, on 3rd August 2017 ED club initiated a motivation class to encourage the upcoming student entrepreneurs to improvise their skills. The session began with a prayer by Miss. Sruthi. Welcome speech was delivered by Mrs. Dhanya Krishna ED club co-ordinator. Presidential address was delivered by Dr. V.R. Sudheesh, Principal. Inaugural address was given by Mr Girish. Felicitation with regard to the session was delivered by Mrs. Jeothilakshmi, IQAC co-ordinator and Mrs Akhila, PTA Secretary. Vote of thanks was proposed by Arun Prathap, Student co-ordinator.
Motivation Class to ED Club Members with the help of DIC Calicut
On 6th December 2017 ED club initiated a motivation class to encourage the upcoming student entrepreneurs to improve their skills. The session began with a prayer by Miss. Sruthi. Welcome speech was delivered by Mrs. Dhanya Krishna ED club co-ordinator. Presidential address was delivered to V. R. Sudheesh, Principal. Inaugural address was rendered by Mr Anand Kumar. Felicitations with regard to the session were delivered by Mrs. Jeothilakshmi IQAC co-ordinator and Mrs Joobi V.P., Staff Association Secretary. Vote of thanks was proposed by Favas Student co-ordinator. 85 students participated in the session.
Workshop on Ornaments Making
The ED club conducted an ornament making workshop on 24-01-2018 as a part of their workshop series to develop skills among students in the college in making earrings, bangles etc. The session was conducted under the guidance Miss. Geethu, Final year BCom student. Club members were excited to make ornaments using threads and thereby being able to apply theory in to practice. Programme was initiated under the guidance of Mrs. Dhanya Krishna ED club co-ordinator. 10 students participated in the workshop.
