On 10th September 2026, an awareness programme was organised at Sree Narayana Guru College, Chelannur, by the Internal Complaints Committee, in association with the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA). The programme was held at the Seminar Hall at 2:00 PM.
The programme focused on workplace harassment against women, legal awareness regarding narcotic abuse and cyber security. The programme was inaugurated by Adv. Biju MC, Judge-in-Charge, DLSA Kozhikode. Dr. Kumar S. P, Principal, delivered the presidential address. Adv. V. P. Radhakrishnan, Panel Lawyer and Mediator, DLSA, handled the presentation.
The session provided students with useful legal awareness and guidance on personal safety, cyber security and the prevention of substance abuse. Capt. Dr. Sindhu Krishnadas T was the coordinator of the programme.

Independence Day Celebration – 15 August 2026
On 15 August 2026, Independence Day was celebrated at Sree Narayana Guru College, Chelannur with patriotic spirit. The programme was attended by the NCC Army Wing, NCC Naval Wing, NSS volunteers, Principal Dr. Kumar S.P., and Naval Wing Caretaker Officer Mr. Vineesh. The Principal and Mr. Vineesh addressed the gathering, followed by the hoisting of the National Flag. The programme concluded with the distribution of payasam.
As part of the celebrations, four NCC cadets from our college participated at the Court Complex, Kozhikode, and four cadets participated at Vikram Maidan. At the Court Complex, UO Sravani served as the Parade Commander. The ceremony included the National Flag hoisting, parade inspection, parade, Independence Day message, patriotic performances, and the National Anthem. Sri. M.N. Karassery, renowned writer and critic, was the Chief Guest.
At Vikram Maidan, the programme was attended by dignitaries including Mayor O. Sadasivan, Minister of Animal Husbandry Bindu Krishna, IPS officer Merin Joseph, and MLA Vidhya Balakrishnan, along with other distinguished guests. A total of 23 platoons participated, and mementos were distributed to all platoons. The four NCC cadets from our college who participated at Vikram Maidan also received certificates.
The participation of our NCC cadets reflected discipline, patriotism, and pride in the Independence Day celebrations.

ചേളന്നൂർ: കോഴിക്കോട് പ്രൊവിഡൻസ് വിമൻസ് കോളേജിൽ പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്ന പ്രളയദുരിതാശ്വാസ ക്യാമ്പിലേക്ക് ശ്രീ നാരായണ ഗുരു കോളേജ് ചേളന്നൂരിലെ എൻ.എസ്.എസ് യൂണിറ്റ് 19, 33 എന്നിവയുടെ നേതൃത്വത്തിൽ അവശ്യസാധനങ്ങൾ കൈമാറി. ക്യാമ്പിൽ കഴിയുന്ന സ്ത്രീകൾക്കും കുട്ടികൾക്കും ആവശ്യമായ സാനിറ്ററി പാഡുകൾ, ഡയപ്പറുകൾ, സോപ്പ്, ബ്രെഡ്, ബിസ്കറ്റ്, റസ്ക്, പഴം തുടങ്ങിയ നിത്യോപയോഗ സാധനങ്ങളാണ് വിതരണം ചെയ്തത്.
കോളേജ് പ്രിൻസിപ്പൽ ഡോ. കുമാർ എസ്.പി., എൻ.എസ്.എസ് പ്രോഗ്രാം ഓഫീസർ ഡോ. ജ്യോതി ലക്ഷ്മി എന്നിവരുടെ മാർഗനിർദേശപ്രകാരം എൻ.എസ്.എസ് ലീഡർമാരായ സരംഗ്, അഖില, വിജയ്, അധീന, സിയാൻ, സിനാൻ എന്നിവരുടെ നേതൃത്വത്തിൽ വളണ്ടിയർമാർ ദുരിതാശ്വാസ ക്യാമ്പിലെത്തി അവശ്യസാധനങ്ങൾ കൈമാറി. ദുരിതബാധിതർക്കൊപ്പമുള്ള സാമൂഹിക പ്രതിബദ്ധതയുടെ ഭാഗമായാണ് സേവനപ്രവർത്തനം സംഘടിപ്പിച്ചത്. ക്യാമ്പ് അധികൃതർ എൻ.എസ്.എസ് വളണ്ടിയർമാരുടെ സേവനമനോഭാവത്തെ അഭിനന്ദിക്കുകയും നന്ദി അറിയിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു.

International Moon Day Celebration
The Department of Physics organized the International Moon Day Celebration on 30 July 2026 with the objective of fostering scientific awareness and inspiring students to explore the fascinating field of astronomy and space science.
The programme commenced with a welcome address by Dr. Divya N.K., Assistant Professor, Department of Physics and Programme Coordinator. The function was presided over by Ms. Neethu P., Head of the Department of Physics. The celebration was formally inaugurated by Dr. Kumar S.P., Principal, SNGC Chelannur, who highlighted the significance of International Moon Day and encouraged students to cultivate scientific curiosity and actively engage in space-related research and innovations.
The programme was felicitated by Dr. Jyothilakshmi S.K., IQAC Coordinator, and Dr. Abhilash E.S., Head of the Department of Botany. Both speakers appreciated the efforts of the Department of Physics in organizing an event that promoted scientific temper and interdisciplinary learning among students.
As part of the celebration, a Quiz Competition and Oral Presentation Competition were conducted. The quiz competition witnessed enthusiastic participation from students across various departments. The winners were:
- First Prize: Saarang M.K. and Arya Vishnupriya, III B.Sc. Physics
- Second Prize: Gautham and Ajanya, III B.A. Economics
The Oral Presentation Competition featured informative presentations on topics related to the Moon, space exploration, and astronomy. The student presenters were:

- Gautham, III B.Sc. Physics
- Umar, III B.Sc. Physics
The winners of the competitions were honoured with prizes and certificates, which were distributed by Dr. Kumar S. P., Principal, SNGC Chelannur. The Principal congratulated all the participants and appreciated their enthusiasm, scientific outlook, and presentation skills.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Dr. Krishnapriya T. R., who expressed sincere gratitude to the Principal, dignitaries, faculty members, student participants, and everyone who contributed to the successful conduct of the celebration.
The International Moon Day Celebration was a grand success, providing an excellent platform for students to enhance their knowledge of lunar science, develop communication skills, and cultivate a deeper interest in space research.

NCC Alumni Meet 2026
The NCC Alumni Meet was organised on 19 July 2026 at Sree Narayana Guru College. The programme brought together NCC super seniors and senior alumni, providing an opportunity to reconnect and share their memorable experiences.
The programme was inaugurated by the Principal, Dr. Kumar S. P., and was conducted under the guidance of Captain Dr. Sindhu Krishnadas T., ANO.
During the programme, an Alumni Unit was officially formed. A President, a Secretary, and five Executive Members were selected to lead and coordinate the activities of the Alumni Unit in the future.
The programme concluded on a joyful note, with everyone expressing their gratitude and leaving with fond memories. The Alumni Meet strengthened the bond between the present cadets and former NCC members, making it.
The NCC Operation Toofan Programme was organized by the 9(K) Girls Battalion NCC to create awareness against drug abuse and drug trafficking. The programme began with a prayer, followed by a warm welcome to the Chief Guest, dignitaries, teachers, cadets, and students.
The Welcome Address was delivered by Captain Dr. Sindhu Krishna Das, ANO, followed by the Presidential Address by Dr. Kumar S.P., Principal. The programme was officially inaugurated by MLA Adv. Vidhya Balakrishnan, who also distributed Operation Toofan badges to the cadets.
Felicitation speeches were delivered by Dr. Vineesh, Caretaker of the NCC Naval Wing, and Dr. Jeothi Lakshmi, IQAC Coordinator. The programme concluded with the Vote of Thanks, followed by the National Song and the National Anthem.
World Yoga Day
International Yoga Day Celebration
Sree Narayana Guru College, Chelannur, celebrated International Yoga Day on 21 June 2026. The programme was inaugurated by Dr. Kumar S.P., Principal of the College, and was coordinated by the Navy Wing, Army Wing, and Sports Team.
The yoga session began at 7:30 a.m. and was led by Ms. Bhagya Lakshmi M., Yoga Instructor, who attended as the chief guest. Participants practiced various yoga postures and breathing exercises, promoting physical fitness and mental well-being. The Surya Namaskar session was led by ANO Capt. Dr .Sindhu Krishnadas .T . The session concluded at 9:15 a.m.
Students and staff participated enthusiastically in the programme. Snacks were provided to all participants after the session. The event was a successful observance of International Yoga Day and emphasized the importance of yoga in maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
World Day Against Child Labour
In observance of the World Day Against Child Labour, the Naval NCC cadets of Sree Narayana Guru College, Chelannur organized a documentary screening programme on 12 June 2026. The programme aimed to raise awareness about the issue of child labour and its impact on children's education, rights, and overall development.The event was conducted under the guidance of Dr. Vineesh K. P. and with the support of Dr. Kumar S. P.. The documentary highlighted the challenges faced by child labourers and emphasized the importance of ensuring access to education, protection of children's rights, and equal opportunities for every child.
The programme served as an effective awareness initiative, encouraging the cadets to reflect on their social responsibilities and reaffirming the collective commitment towards building a society free from child labour.
Green Horizons: Sree Narayana Guru College Celebrates World Environment Day 2026
Chelannur, June 5, 2026: In a vibrant display of ecological commitment, The Forestry Club of Sree Narayana Guru College, Chelannur, in active collaboration with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), organized a comprehensive programme to observe World Environment Day 2026. The event successfully brought together faculty, staff, and students to reflect on their shared ecological footprint and champion sustainable practices.

On 5th June 2026, NCC Army Wing cadets of SNGC, Chelannur observed World Environment Day by planting trees and cleaning the college campus.
Cadets arrived on campus by 8:00 am and carried out a cleanliness drive. At 11:30 am, Principal Dr. Kumar S.P. planted a sapling. The program was conducted under the guidance of ANO Capt. Dr. Sindhu Krishnadas T.
The program concluded successfully by 12:00 pm.

Alumni meet - Lift of Memory
The Sports Department of our college organized an alumni meet titled Lift of Memory on 22/03/26 at the Seminar Hall. The program was inaugurated by the College Principal Prof. (Dr.) Kumar S P and the past teachers of the Sports Department and the students who achieved this year were honored. The program was a great success with the participation of many alumni. The alumni association assured all possible help for the future activities of the Sports Department.

Ripples Multidisciplinary Seminar Series 2025 – Inaugural Session
The Ripples Annual Multidisciplinary Seminar Series “Technologia 2025 ” was formally inaugurated on 22 December 2025 at Sree Narayana Guru College, Chelannur, marking the beginning of an academic initiative aimed at fostering interdisciplinary dialogue and intellectual exchange among faculty and students.
The inaugural session was graced by Dr. R. Subashini, Associate Professor, Department of Computer Science and Engineering, NIT Calicut, as the Chief Guest. The programme was chaired by Prof. Dr. Kumar S. P, Principal, Sree Narayana Guru College, Chelannur.
The event commenced with a warm and cordial welcome address by Mr. Rejish M. T., Assistant Professor and General Convenor of the seminar series. In his address, he highlighted the objectives of the Ripples initiative, emphasizing the importance of multidisciplinary perspectives in addressing contemporary academic and societal challenges.
The ceremonial lighting of the lamp was performed by the dignitaries, led by the Chief Guest, symbolising the pursuit of knowledge and academic enlightenment. This was followed by a series of felicitations, reflecting the collective support and enthusiasm of the institution:

Dr. Athma Jayaprakash, IQAC Coordinator, underscored the role of such seminars in strengthening quality assurance and research culture within the institution.
Dr. Vidhu Johnson, Head of the Department of Economics, highlighted the relevance of interdisciplinary collaboration in higher education.
Dr. Bindu, Staff Association Secretary, expressed appreciation for the initiative and encouraged active faculty participation.
Dr. Deepesh Karipunkara, Head of the Department of Malayalam, spoke on the integration of humanities with science and technology.
Mr. Lohithashan, PTA Vice President, extended greetings on behalf of the Parent-Teacher Association and assured continued support.The Chief Guest, Dr. R. Subashini, in her inaugural address, shared valuable insights on emerging trends in computer science and the significance of cross-disciplinary research in the present academic landscape. Her address was informative and inspiring, especially for young scholars and faculty members aspiring to engage in multidisciplinary research.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Mrs. Gayathri P., Organising Secretary and Assistant Professor of English, who expressed gratitude to the Chief Guest, the Principal, dignitaries, faculty members, students, and all those who contributed to the successful organization of the event.
The inaugural session of the Ripples Multidisciplinary Seminar Series was a resounding success, setting a strong foundation for future academic engagements and reaffirming the institution’s commitment to academic excellence and interdisciplinary learning.
