The inauguration of the English Association, for the year 2025-26, was conducted on 16.03.2026, at 10.30 am, in the college seminar hall. Ms. Vandana Viswanath, Head of the Department, welcomed the gathering. The Principal in charge, Dr. Abhilash E S, presided over the function. RIPPLES SEMINAR REPORT 2025-26
The Post graduate Department of English, under the auspices of the IQAC, conducted a seminar with the general theme of TECHNOLOGIA, as part of the Ripples Annual Multidisciplinary International Seminar Series, for the year 2025-26. The topic of the seminar was “Algorithms as Authors: Technology, Authorship and the Post-Readerly Turn”. English Association Inauguration

INAUGURATION OF THE ENGLISH ASSOCIATION 'ANGREZI'
The Association inauguration of the Postgraduate Department of English was conducted on November 19, 2024, by the Principal, Prof.Dr.Kumar S.P. The inaugural function was held in the College Seminar Hall at 10.30 am. Mr. Hisham Muhammed, English Language Trainer and Motivational Speaker,was the Chief Guest of the day. Rhinu M.K, General Secretary of the College Union, delivered the Welcome Address. The Presidential Address was conveiby Ms.Vandana Viswanath, HoD English.
The Chief Guest, Mr. Hisham Muhammad, oriented the students about the various career and academic options they can choose after their UG or PG studies. He emphasized the contemporary relevance of English language and Communication Skills. Felicitations were proposed by Dr.Athma Jayaprakash (IQAC Coordinator), Ms Aswani BG( College Librarian and Union Advisor), Dr.Divya NK( Fine Arts Advisor), Ms. Sangeetha G Nair( Faculty, Dept.of English)and Vishnu Pavithran (College Union Chairman).
Shanithya, the English Association Secretary, proposed the Vote of Thanks.

The PG Department of English paid a tribute to the Literature Nobel Laureate of the year, Jon Fosse, through the programme SAYER OF THE UNSAYABLE: A TRIBUTE TO JON FOSSE
on 14.11.2023 from 10.30am to 11.30am at the College Seminar Hall.
The Norwegian Nobel Laureate was introduced and familiarised to the audience through four attractive presentations, done by both the PG and UG students of the department.
The function was presided over by Dr.Athma Jayaprakash, IQAC Coordinator.

ENGLISH ASSOCIATION INAUGURATION 2022-23
The inauguration of the Association of the Postgraduate Department of English, Sree Narayana Guru College, Chelannur, was held on March 30, 2023. The function began with a prayer rendered by Ms.Hanna PP (II MA English). Ms. Vandana Viswanath, HoD English, welcomed the gathering. The function was presided over by the Principal, Prof. Dr. Kumar S.P. Dr. Anitha Ramesh, Associate Professor and Head of the PG Department of English ( Retd.), The Zamorin's Guruvayurappan College, was the Chief Guest of the day. She delivered a very insightful and relevant talk on the Impact of the Social Media on the present generation of youth. Dr.Athma Jayaprakash(IQAC Coordinator) and Ms. Adithya P(Vice-Chairperson, College Union) offered felicitations to the programme. Ms. Kshethra MK (II MA English)coordinated the announcement and the general structure of the programme. The function concluded by 12.30 pm.
