Ripples 2025

Advanced Closed-Loop Bioelectronic Systems for Diabetes Management
On February 4, 2026, the Department of Chemistry at Sree Narayana Guru College,
Chelannur, in collaboration with the IQAC, organized an international seminar titled
"Technologia 2026" as part of the "Ripples '25" series. The event, held in the College
Seminar Hall, began at 11:00 a.m. with a welcome address by Dr. Kavya K.V., Lecturer in
Chemistry, followed by a formal inauguration by the College Principal, Dr. Kumar S.P.
Dignitaries including Dr. Athma Jayaprakash (IQAC Coordinator), Dr. Divya (Assistant
Professor, Physics), and Dr. Salna ((Assistant Professor Botany Department) offered
felicitations, emphasizing the interdisciplinary nature of the theme: "Advanced Closed-Loop
Bioelectronic Systems for Diabetes Management." The keynote session was delivered by
Dr. Debasis Maity, a Senior Research Scientist from ETH Zürich, Switzerland, who
explored the evolution of bioelectronic systems, the chemical engineering of sensors, and the
impact of IoT on biosensing. This was followed by a vibrant session of student presentations
covering smart city infrastructure and AI-driven healthcare. The program concluded with a
vote of thanks by Nihal, a first-year Botany student, marking a successful exploration of how
chemistry underpins modern life-saving technologies.
